 Bio

In April of ‘82, I was born in Cluj, Romania, the capital of Transylvania, where I lived until I was 7 years old. I still speak the language, but I'm a little choppy. Fleeing the red fist of communism, my parents bravely set out as political refugees to Greece in '89, just before the revolution. My sister and I joined them a year later and lived in Athens, where our walks in the park were among the ancient ruins of the acropolis. Poor as dirt, but determined as hell, my parents pooled their savings and when our visa finally cleared for the United States, we began our new lives in the metropolitan wonder that is Twin Falls, Idaho. Our stay there was no more than a year and there wasn’t too much opportunity to grow, but most folks were quite welcoming and it'll be a town I never forget.

Seattle is where we'd call home until today. My parents, younger sister and I live in Redmond, WA. I've got my own place, but it’s literally a mile from the folks' house. Eat dinner there once and you'll want to move close too. Redmond has been home since I was in fourth grade. Growing up in a nice place like this and getting to travel so much with my family makes me look back at my childhood with a big toothy grin. I’ve made friends here with some of the best people humanity has to offer. They’re funny and nice and get way too into Pictionary. You’ll find us over at each others’ houses talking crap about stupid movies, ugly games, and mean people who can’t dress themselves. If I’m not with my friends, I’m probably hanging out with the fam; we get along so well we may as well just be old friends. I can’t say enough about how caring and supportive my family has been. I really count myself blessed.

On the job front, I'm currently a storyboard/concept artist at Arena.Net working on the Guild Wars 2. On previous GW installments I’ve done 2D/3D environment art as well as some concepting. Before joining Arena.Net in December '03, I paid for school by working at Valve Software for two and a half years as a texture and prop artist. My career began in 1999 with an amazing opportunity as a paid intern at Snow-Blind Studios, which turned into a texture artist position at Zipper Interactive later that year. I kept making jumps up until I got myself the Arena.Net gig and its been a dream job!

I’m not 100% certain about what I want to do long term, but I know learning a bunch, seeing the world, and improving my artistic skill set are at the top of the list.

Thanks so much for visiting, come back soon, feel free to drop me a line!
